A burglar stole a laptop computer after tearing a whole in a window screen at a house in the 8500 block of Dundee Terrace and using a pool cleaning net to pull the laptop out between 2 and 5:30 a.m. Nov. 7. The laptop was valued at $1,000. Damage was estimated at $40.

Matarranz strangled Giangrandi after she awoke and started screaming inside the house in the 6900 block of Gleneagle Drive, police said. After killing Giangrandi, Matarranz fled, taking several credit cards and valuables, such as jewelry.
